Las propuestas colombianas abarcaron desde colecciones temáticas que exploran el papel de la mujer y referencias culturales diversas hasta enfoques de ‘slow fashion’ y moda artesanal con producción limitada.

Colombia ha dicho presente este domingo en el marco de la Semana de la Moda en Nueva York, con propuestas de ropa y zapatos para la mujer diseñados por un colectivo de creativos de este país que busca abrirse un hueco en el competido mercado estadounidense.

Se trata de un colectivo de ocho diseñadores que ha desembarcado en la Gran Manzana gracias al programa Puente Internacional, impulsado por la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, para dar a conocer el talento de su país y establecer lazos comerciales como vehículo para el crecimiento económico.

El Puente participó este domingo, por segundo año consecutivo, en la pasarela de New York Fashion Week, esta vez con propuestas de las marcas Alanna, bajo la dirección creativa de Laura González; A modo Mio, de Francesca Sesana Arbeláez; C’Madier, de Lina Corredor Cemedin; y Más Cincuenta y Siete by Love Me Jeans, de Jackeline Villegas.

También presentó, en el marco de la Semana de la Moda, Lorant & Co (Laura Natalia Rubio Peña) y Lyenzo (María José Zanabria Ardila), todos con prendas de vestir para mujer, mientras que en el diseño de zapatos están en la pasarela las firmas Liza Herrera (Liza Herrera Contreras) y Kernel Leather (Camila Parras Sánchez).

Marcas como Lyenzo destacaron por piezas hechas a mano que fusionan tradición y contemporaneidad, mientras que Lorant & Co apostó por un ‘lujo consciente’ con detalles de pedrería artesanal.

“Aquí (en el colectivo) hay mucho talento, muy buen diseño, una coherencia creativa impresionante y es lo que queremos mostrar a nivel internacional. Detrás de eso vienen las ventas y todo lo que es importante para la economía del país y para el fortalecimiento de los empresarios”, explicó a EFE el presidente de la Cámara bogotana, Ovidio Claros Polanco.

Para él, lo importante es “demostrar cómo esta gente, que hace unos años estaba en un garaje (cosiendo), hoy tiene la posibilidad de estar en Nueva York. Son un ejemplo de superación”.

Claros Polanco enfatiza que las firmas de zapatos son de Restrepo, un barrio popular al sur de la ciudad de Bogotá, que, tradicionalmente y por décadas, es conocido por el calzado y su bisutería.

Además de Nueva York, el Puente Internacional también estará presente en Dubai y Madrid, y asistirá por primera vez a París con otro grupo de diseñadores.

“Estamos apenas en el inicio del recorrido de la internacionalización y el fortalecimiento de todo el sistema empresarial”, comentó Claros Polanco.

Se trata de un colectivo “de lo que llamamos la economía popular”, agrega, el cual se ha ido formando para “fortalecer la mirada internacional”.

“Desde la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá impulsamos la internacionalización de la moda como motor de crecimiento empresarial y generación de empleo. Esta presencia de las marcas bogotanas refleja un proceso riguroso de preparación y acompañamiento para llevar al mercado internacional propuestas con identidad, calidad y visión comercial”, afirmó Claros Polanco.

Hace tres años, cuando asumió la dirección de la Cámara y nació la idea del colectivo, ningún diseñador tenía en mente presentar sus creaciones en Nueva York.

Colombia estará representada además por el diseñador Jorge Duque, que saltó a la fama en 2010 al ganar la primera versión del programa de televisión Project Runway Latinoamérica, y cuyas creaciones están presentes en diversos países.
